FC Luzern extends contract with midfielder Mattia Walker and loans him to FC Vaduz for the upcoming season. Mattia Walker joined FC Luzern from SC Goldau's youth academy, where he completed all youth levels. In the 2024/25 season, he made his debut in FC Luzern's first team. In the previous season, Walker played on loan at Étoile Carouge in the Challenge League, where he played 24 games despite a two-month injury break. Now, he will gain further experience in the Super League with FCV. Dante Carecci, 61, has been back as team manager at Allmend since Monday. After two years at FCB, Carecci is the successor of his predecessor Süha Demokan. The Winterthurer moved after two seasons at FCL to the Letzigrund Stadium, where he works at the City of Zurich as Event Management Football Manager. Carecci knows his new and old workplace in Luzern well. He will again be the first point of contact for all organizational matters around the football life of FCL professionals and the away games and training camps of the team. FC Luzern continues to rely on its own youth: The two homegrown players Erblin Sadikaj and Sascha Meyer have signed their first professional contracts with the Super League club. The contracts run until summer 2029. The 18-year-old center-back Sadikaj joined FC Luzern from FC Rotkreuz's youth academy and has since completed all junior levels. His debut in the first team was made by the current Swiss youth international in December last year in the cup quarterfinal against Zug 94. So far, he has played two games for the first team. Also, the 20-year-old striker Sascha Meyer comes from the own youth and has completed all training stages at FCL. His debut in the first team was made in the 2023/24 season. Since then, he has played five games. In the past season, the son of sports director Remo Meyer scored 19 goals for FC Luzern's U21. Sports director Remo Meyer is quoted in a statement as saying: «The professional contracts are the deserved reward for the consistent and serious work that Erblin and Sascha have shown on their way through all youth levels. Both have already taken on responsibility in their own way in the youth teams. They now receive the necessary time to take the next step in their young careers.» Stürmer Nando Toggenburger, who was loaned to SC Kriens by FC Luzern during the just-ended championship, returns to FCL for the 2026/27 season. The 22-year-old Altdorfer Toggenburger scored 24 goals for Kriens and set up another 15.
